16. Oestgeester kanaal

Hier op de splitsing van verschillende waterwegen moeten we even goed opletten. We varen het Oegstgeesterkanaal op. Dit is de tweede afslag aan SZ. Het Oegstgeesterkanaal loopt door naar Katwijk aan Zee en eindigt na ruim 6 kilometer bij het boezemgemaal Koning Willem-Alexander, beter bekend als boezemgemaal Katwijk. Dit is een van de vier Rijnlandse boezemgemalen die het teveel aan boezemwater uitslaan. Dit gemaal doet dat rechtstreeks naar de Noordzee, maar zo ver varen wij nu niet.
