6. Schutsluis Rijneveld

Aan de linkerzijde bij het viaduct ligt sluis Rijneveld, een van de twee sluizen die toegang geeft tot de Gouwepolder. De sluis is in beheer bij het waterschap. Nog niet zo lang geleden werd de sluis nog bijna dagelijks bediend. Het meeste transport in de boomteelt ging over water - nu zijn er meerdere ontsluitingswegen aangelegd in de Gouwepolder, waardoor transport over water bijna niet meer nodig is. Sluis Rijneveld is overgedragen aan gemeente Alphen aan de Rijn in 2017. Doorvaart moet aangevraagd worden bij de gemeente.
